We have spent the last few weeks looking at the Habit Cycle, Hurt Cycle, and Jesus Cycle. This Thursday is the final week of this Unstuck Series. We are focusing on the long lasting effects of following each path. I am eager to share with you what the Abundant Life looks like. To see in full color what the hard work of trusting Jesus leads to and find the courage to take the next steps in treating our hurts differently.
I sincerely hope you can join us for worship and then choose the small group offering that best meets your needs this week. For more information on the small groups, visit www.cor.org/liveforward.
I wanted to do something odd in this email. I wanted to begin directing your attention to what is happening at Live Forward in two weeks. Two main things are happening on October 10.
1) Live Forward will be joined by people in many other care classes for dinner as part of the new Resurrection Care Night. (See Announcement Below)
2) A new sermon series will begin on October 10th. The focus will be on the work of Brene Brown and Faith. Brene Brown has skyrocketed from being unknown to featured on Oprah and TED Talks. She has blown my mind like very few authors have. My soul has been thirsty to hear what she has had to say. I think there is a good chance I am not alone. Here is one clip of many youtube examples for you to get a feel over what we are about to do.
We will be talking about Vulnerability and other icky words. This is not just a Woman Conversation. It relates as well to Men, if not more so. I believe you will find this upcoming series to include new steps on how you can Live Forward. I also believe you will have coworkers and family members who will benefit from being invited as well.
See you soon.
Dinner 5:30-6:30pm (Student Center in East Building)
Worship 6:30-7:20 pm (Student Center in East Building)
Small Groups 7:30-8:30pm (In Rooms Announced in Bulletins)
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Steven Blair
